Youth and Truth: Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev to interact with youngsters

Bengaluru: Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, founder of Isha Foundation and spiritual guru, will interact with youngsters from the city as part of his nationwide campaign, ‘Youth and Truth’. Addressing the media here on Tuesday, he said that clarifying issues that concern the youth is essential to ensure they are on the right track.
On the objectives of the campaign, he said it is important to bring in a policy change in the education system. “It is a painful reality that there is an increase in the number of youth suicides in the country. The pressure caused by the education system followed now is sadly a contributing factor to such situations,” he said, adding that the Foundation will hold talks with central government officials to make recommendations.
Schools and colleges should be spending equal time to engage students in sports, music and traditional arts similar to the time spent on education, he said.
Asked to comment on Congress president Rahul Gandhi’s recent Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, Sadhguru said he would stay away from politics, leaving it to each individual’s discretion to follow their faith. He said that democracy is good for a country like India, and urged the people to pick their representatives responsibly and wisely.
He said that as many as two lakh questions raised by the youngsters from across the country through various online platforms as part of the campaign have already been answered. He observed that the energy of youngsters, who account for over 50 percent of the population, should be channelised in the right way for a bright future.
