Trendy Ganesha reminds of Article 370
The members of the All Friends Association came up with the idea of installing not only the idol but also politicians to prove their patriotism.
Hyderabad: The craze for installing Ganesha idols in different styles in the city ensures visitors are never bored. The organisers of the various committees have come up with trendy ideas, even reflecting the current political scenario to install idols during the Ganesha festivities in Hyderabad, which will culminate on Friday.
At Gowlipura in the old city area, the members of the All Friends Association came up with the idea of installing not only the Ganesh idol but also politicians to prove their patriotism.
Extending support to the Union Government for the abrogation of Article 370 of the Constitution, the members installed idols of Ganesha holding the Indian flag in the Kashmir valley, while the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and Indian Air Force Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman, are saluting the god. Speaking to this newspaper, K. Srikanth, member of All Friends Association, Gowlipura said: “We have been installing the idols of Lord Ganesha for over 20 years, with a different and trendy concept. We chose the concept of nullifying the special status for Jammu and Kashmir state as the theme this year, also Abhinandan Varthaman, as an inspiration to the youngsters of the nation and those idols have been installed.”
At Osmangunj in Begum Bazar, the members of Hindu Dharam Association have installed the idols of Ganesha following the social media application tiktok. R. Balaji, member of the association said: “Our prime motto is to enterta in the public by installing trendy idols of the god.”
