Andhra University chief wants convention centre to be ready soon

The convention centre is coming in a huge area and overall capacity of the auditorium is around 2,000 with permanent seating arrangements.

Visakhapatnam: The ambitious project, state-of-the-art convention centre on the Beach Road, taken up by the Andhra University is likely to be completed by November 2017. Vice-Chancellor of Andhra University G. Nageswara Rao on Saturday visited the ongoing works at the convention centre and instructed the engineers of AU and the contractors to complete works by this month. Sources said that works are in the finishing stage and installation of firefighting equipment, air-condition grids and few others are going on in full swing. 

The convention centre is coming in a huge area and the overall capacity of the auditorium is around 2,000 with permanent seating arrangements. There is a separate exhibition space of 1,500 sqft. Sources said President Ram Nath Kovind will visit the city on December 7 and participate in the ENC Golden Jubilee celebrations. The President is likely to visit Andhra University and the Convention centre too.
