It will happen in a week, claims Eshwar Khandre
During an interaction with the media here, Mr Khandre said that with the by-elections over, attention would be paid to cabinet expansion.
Kalaburagi: Notwithstanding former CM Siddaramaiah’s hint that the cabinet expansion may be delayed, KPCC Working President Eshwar Khandre said it would happen in about a week’s time.
During an interaction with the media here, Mr Khandre said that with the by-elections over, attention would be paid to cabinet expansion.
He also said that the appointment of chairmen of various boards and corporations would be done in about ten days. The party will address the issue of giving greater representation to the Hyderabad Karnataka region in the expansion, he added.
Mr Khandre also clarified that he was not in the race for a cabinet post as he was happy being KPCC Working President. Asked whether in the light of the success in the recent byelections, the Congress and JD(S) will jointly fight the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections in the state, Mr Khandre said a discussion was yet to be held on the issue. “So far the seat sharing has been confined to only Shivamogga and Ballari Lok Sabha seats. For the rest, a decision will be taken after holding discussions”, he said.
When his attention was drawn to the statement by senior BJP leader K.S. Eshwarappa that the saffron party will bag 24 of the total 28 Lok Sabha seats, Mr Khandre remarked, “We will fare well as there is a pro-Congress wave in the entire country, including Karnataka. I would advise BJP leaders not to indulge in day-dreaming.”
