7 Bengaluru flights diverted to city

Hyderabad, Bengaluru: Seven flights were diverted to the city airport from Bengaluru due to poor visibility caused by fog there. It is standard practice to divert flights to nearby airports when they cannot land at the destination,
Several flights were delayed at the Kempe Gowda International Airport on Monday due to poor visibility caused by fog. The arrival and departure of 56 flights was delayed while 11 flights were diverted. Over 100 flights had been delayed on Sunday morning too due to the fog.

KIA sources said that on Monday morning, fog had descended on the runway causing poor visibility conditions. Twenty-two flights that were ready to take off were delayed, while 16 arrival flights were affected. Seven flights were delayed due to holding point congestion. Of the 11 flights diverted, three were sent to Chennai, seven to Hyderabad and one to Coimbatore.
