Hyderabad: A group of 40-plus home- grown engineers from Ameerpet, with expertise in mobile and cloud and data space, led by a 10th-class-passout-turned-doctorate, formed an Innovation Lab in Hyderabad which is now the technology partner of the 104th Indian Science Congress (ISC) at Tirupati.

Bharat Innovation Lab has developed an interactive online media platform called ‘SHARB’ for the ISC wherein scientists, Nobel laureates, researchers and university students can interact, chat and share ideas with Tirupati meet in January first week as base.

Dr. S Koti Reddy from Janardhanapuram near Guidvada of Krishna district, who worked for Microsoft as Senior Technology Architect, is the CEO of Innovation Lab

Professor S Vijay Bhaskar, organising secretary of ISC, said, “We are expecting 12,000 scientists to attend the meet. On the sidelines, a science congress for children and women will be held. Bharat Innovations developed a website and  social media platforms with which we have reached 20 lakh people,”

Bharat Innovation Lab is supported by AP government and headquartered in Kompally but had a start up office at T-Hub in IIT campus. Mr Koti Reddy said, “The engineers we recruited are all from Ameerpet market having fire in their belly rather than qualifications,”

He said, “I hail from a farmer family. After 10th class in 1998, I worked in the fields for six months helping my dad post-Budameru floods. Later, the Rs 1,000 that my dad gave me went for PGDCA training. I joined data entry operation and later went into programming in Hyderabad to become the youngest Java-certified professional in the country. I joined Infosys and later Microsoft India. While working for Microsoft I did graduation, post graduation and a business PG diploma from ISB. I went to US to work for Microsoft. I am one of the four professionals who developed Windows operating system for mobile phones. I won the 2012 US president innovation award. After 13 years I returned to India and set up a lab that is into agritech, construction tech, education tech, health care tech and media tech.”

He added, “Based on SVU VCs’ appeal I have joined as technology partner for Science Congress. We had already developed an intelligent management system for knowledge sharing and networking. The same has been redesigned for the purpose of Science Congress where details of scientists, sessions and chats will all be available in the form of an app on mobile phone downloadable from December 16 from playstore or apple store,”
