Missing courier delivery boy found dead in Prashanthnagar

According to the police, Swamy was staying with his mother in a rented house in Kaveripura.

Bengaluru: A 26-year-old man, who had gone missing for the last three days, was found murdered in Prashanthnagar in Vijayanagar police station limits on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as Nanjunda Swamy, a resident of Kaveripura in Kamakshipalya, who was working as a courier delivery boy. According to the police, Swamy was staying with his mother in a rented house in Kaveripura. He had left home on Thursday afternoon for work, but not returned. The same night, his mother had registered a missing complaint with the Kamakshipalya police. But on Sunday morning, some passersby noticed a body lying in a pool of blood at the ground floor of Allahabad Bank building in Prashanthnagar and alerted the police.

“After examining the scene, it was found that unknown persons had smashed the person’s head with a boulder. Further investigations revealed it was the body of Swamy. We have launched an investigation into the case and the motive for the murder is yet to be ascertained. It is suspected that the murder took place late on Saturday night. We are analysing the CCTV footage to know the identity of the killers,” the police added. Vijayanagar police have registered a case.
