Kumta mob targets top cop Hemanth Nimbalkar's car

KUMTA: Tension spiralled out of control in this coastal town with protestors setting the car of Inspector General of Police (Western Range), Hemanth Nimbalkar, ablaze and leaving a couple of police officers injured during a shut-down over the death of Paresh Mesta, an activist belonging to a saffron outfit, on Monday.

BJP workers and members of several pro- Hindutva outfits staged protests in this town as well as in Karwar, Gokarna and Honnavar towns demanding justice and a probe into the death of Paresh Mesta.
