Warangal textile park will be country’s best: KT Rama Rao
The minister was accompanied by Kihak Sung, chairman of the South Korean Youngone Corporation.
Hyderabad: IT Minister K T Rama Rao on Wednesday said the state government was committed to creating employment in the textile manufacturing industry. Telangana’s Kakatiya Mega Textile Park in Warangal would be the best park in the country, he added. Mr Rama Rao was speaking after a tour of the textile park along with Panchayat Raj Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao, local MLA Challa Dharma Reddy and other officials. The minister was accompanied by Kihak Sung, chairman of the South Korean Youngone Corporation, which has pledged to invest Rs 900 crore in the park. Youngone’s unit will be built over 290 acres and is expected to provide jobs to over 12,000 people directly and indirectly. “With this textile park, the face of Warangal will change completely. Through it, thousands of youngsters will get jobs,” Mr Rao said.
Mr Kihak Sung said, “Youngone is one of the biggest textile companies in the country. We have a presence in 13 countries, ncluding Bangladesh, Vietnam and Ethiopia.”
