Extra security on Valentine's Day to prevent moral policing in Visakhapatnam
The leaders and activists of saffron outfits are chalking out plans to instil fear in youth.
Visakhapatnam: Love birds in Vizag can express their affection on Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14, without any fear of moral policing from few right wing organisations, who allegedly geared up to spoil spirit the celebrations.
The city police reiterated that general precautions are being taken at various locations and action would be initiated against the moral police if anyone tries to taking the law into their hands.
Since most of the hotels and pubs have made all the arrangements to organise romantic parities on the V-Day on Sunday, the leaders and activists of saffron outfits are chalking out plans to instil fear in youth celebrating the V-Day citing youngsters spoiling our culture by adopting Western culture.
A senior police officer said that moral policing would not be allowed by any outfit during the Valentine’s Day celebrations in the city and he warned of action against those indulge in such kind of activities.
Suspecting that the members of the saffron outfits may threaten the couple to get them married or beating them up will only create a sense of fear among them. “We will deploy police forces at all the hot spots such as parks, beaches, zoo, Kailasagiri, Kambalakonda eco-tourism park and also at the entrances of the all the major hotels, where the V-Day celebrations will be on, to prevent any untoward incidents.”
