Haryana CM's ex-OSD terms JNU students 'prostitutes'
Yadav clarified on his Twitter account that his tweet had been interpreted wrongly.
Chandigarh: Jawahar Yadav, former Officer on Special Duty to Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, Saturday sparked a controversy by allegedly terming protesting female students at JNU campus as "prostitutes".
However, later, Yadav, who is considered close to the chief minister, clarified on his Twitter account that his tweet had been interpreted wrongly.
"Therefore, I withdraw my statement. I did not intend to hurt anybody's sentiments," he said.
Yadav, who has recently been appointed as Chairman of Haryana Housing Board, said on Twitter that in his previous tweet, he did not compare students with prostitutes.
"What I had said in my previous tweet was that those sisters and daughters who are forced to opt for prostitution are better than those girls at JNU who were raising anti-national, Pakistan Zindabad and freedom for Kashmir and Kerala slogans and demanding to fight till India's destruction. Those prostitutes and sex workers sisters are better as they sell their bodies under compulsion but do not sell their nation," he said in another tweet with a photo of his statement.
The earlier tweet was not available later on his Twitter account.
