DA case: HC to hear Jagan’s 11 pleas on April 9
The HC also made it clear that it will be the final hearing and it would hear the contention of both the petitioner and respondent for only one day.
Hyderabad: Refusing to issue any interim directions in favour of AP Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy in exempting his personal appearance before the CBI court on every trial day in connection with the disproportionate assets case, the Telangana High Court on Wednesday said the 11 petitions filed by Mr Reddy seeking exemption will be heard on April 9. The court also made it clear that it will be the final hearing and it would hear the contention of both the petitioner and respondent for only one day.
However, the HC gave Mr Reddy the liberty to request the CBI court for exemption of his personal appearance by mentioning the status of his petitions in the High Court. Justice Gandikota Sridevi told the counsel representing Jagan “You can ask for exemption before the trial court by mentioning the status of the petitions before the High Court”. When Mr S. Niranjan Reddy, Counsel for Jagan, urged the court to issue some note about the liberty given to the petitioner so that they could produce it before the CBI court, the Judge said the CBI Counsel will explain to that court about the liberty given.
