Aircraft formations captivate Modi
BENGALURU: Prime Minister Narendra Modi was engrossed with the formation of various aircrafts at the inaugural function of 14th edition of Aero India-2023 at Air Force Station, Yelahanka in Bengaluru on Monday.
He witnessed the mighty Su 30 MKIs performing “Trishul” (Trident) formation with 3 aircrafts. ‘Dhwaj’ formation of the Indian Air Force flanked by Aero India flags, caught the attention of Modi who was watching the formation of aircrafts seated on a dais at the AFS, Yelahanka. Modi caught glimpses of Light Combat Aircraft ‘Tejas’ in a 3-1-5 Arrow Head formation. These aircrafts will fly at 700 ft above ground level highlighting the achievement in making and operating indigenous combat capability.
Modi observed Arjun formation with seven aircrafts in arrow head having a MiG 29 and flanked by 2xJaguars, 2xMirage-2000s and 2xRafale aircraft in echelon positions. “Netra” formation having 5 aircrafts in arrow head was another feature at the event.
‘Gurukul’ formation by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited’s (HAL) indigenous fixed wing trainer aircraft, indigenous helicopter formation, ‘Varuna’ formation of Indian Navy maritime patrol aircraft PBi-Poseidon (Boeing 737 platform) enthralled Modi and the audience at the Yelahanka air base.
