Hajipur: Bonhomie between the arch rivals was in full display on Saturday with Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar urging Prime Minister Narendra Modi to “keep visiting” the state while the latter gesturing masses chanting “Modi, Modi” to calm down while Kumar spoke.
Addressing the inauguration function of the newly constructed Digha-Sonepur rail-cum-road bridge in the presence of Modi, Mr Kumar noted with happiness that the central government has taken seriously the issue of the dilapidated condition of the Gandhi bridge on Ganga.
Mr Modi who was in Bihar to attend the concluding ceremony of Patna High Court’s centenary year shared the dais with his political rival Nitish Kumar. The duo after the function in Patna shared the same chopper to reach Chaukulia village in Hajipur for the inauguration of mega rail projects.
Mr Modi mooted a novel idea of courts coming out with an annual bulletin to highlight the oldest cases being tried by them to help create sensitivity on pendency of cases.
