Banwarilal Purohit sets up search panel for Annamalai university VC

The functions of the search committee will shortlist ten candidates from the applicants for an interaction.

Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit on Friday held discussions with top Cuddalore district officials and took part in a cleanliness drive as part of the Swacch Bharat' initiative.

Chennai: Following Alagappa University, Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit on Monday has constituted a three-member Vice-Chancellor search panel for Annamalai University well before the completion of tenure by the present Vice-Chancellor Professor S.Manian.

The incumbent Vice-Chancellor of the university is due to demit office on May 27.
Justice C.V. Ramulu, former judge of Andhra Pradesh High Court will be convener of the committee. The other members of the search committee are C. Than-gamuthu, former Vice-Chancellor of Bharathidasan University, the Syndicate nominee and retired IAS officer S. P. Elangovan, the government nominee to the committee.

The functions of the search committee will shortlist ten candidates from the applicants for an interaction. Following the interaction, it will prepare a panel of three names with a brief of their suitability and submit it to the Governor.
