Vijayawada: Justifying the emergence as party to fight injustice and a degraded political system, YSR Congress has said that during the past seven years it has been the voice of the people and has been relentlessly taking up issues of public interest at various forums. “Party president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has been the guiding force for the party which has been the hope of a multitude of people as he has taken up various issues providing a plank for venting dissent against corrupt Chandrababu Naidu’s government,” party senior leader Bumana Karunakar Reddy told reporters here on Monday.
It was the relentless efforts of the leader of the Opposition that has kept Chandrababu Naidu’s government on a tight rope. Mr Naidu had to mend his ways as they were detrimental to the people’s welfare, he added. “Y.S. Mohan Reddy during the past seven years has taken up various issues and held protests in various forms at various places and has become the voice of the people. Development and welfare has been evenly balanced and Mr Reddy has emerged as a formidable leader and in the coming days, he would be the face of future and development, he said on the occasion of the eighth Formation Day of the party.
Braving many adversaries, he has surged forward and has won the hearts of the people in the state and the government was pushed into a defensive mode on various occasions, he said. Though there was disinformation campaign by the TD through its friendly media, people have reposed faith and it is reflected in the stupendous success of the Praja Sankalpa Yatra where every venue has been witnessing milling crowds, who were trying to shake hands with him even in the rush.
