Bengaluru: The millennials are eager to exercise their franchise for the first time to choose their leaders.

The process for enrolling as a voter is simple. They need to download Form 6 from the www.ceokarnataka.kar.nic.in and fill in their details. The application should be submitted to the local ward office or at the BangaloreOne centres along with age and address proof.

The revenue officer or the person who has been put on election job would process the application and conduct an inspection to check the address. Subsequently, the Electoral Photo Identity Card (EPIC) will be issued. The same process can be followed for an individual who does have an EPIC or has not enrolled so far.

Prajwal V, a resident of Yelahanka said, "I am really excited to exercise his franchise. I turned 18 last month and recently got enrolled in voter's list. The name would be on the electoral rolls and I can flash the Electoral Photo Identity Card (EPIC) for the upcoming assembly elections slated on April 18. Unfortunately, some of my friends who are born after April would miss the opportunity," Prajwal said.

Prerana N., a resident of Malleswaram who turned 18 recently said, "I am super excited to vote for the first time. I know that my vote will be counted to elect the Prime Minister of the country. Although I will elect my local MP it will have an impact on the Prime Minister selection."

As per the BBMP Commissioner N. Manjunath Prasad, who is also District Election Officer, the electoral roll has a total voter population of 88,81,066. There are 46,32,900 male voters, while 42,48,166 are female.

The process of enrolling the names in the electoral roll would be on till 10 days before filing of nominations.

Further, Form 7 is for deletion of names. One has to be a registered voter to fill form 7. Form 8 is available on the website for correction of particulars entered in electoral roll. Form 8A - Application for transposition of entry in electoral roll (Transposition within Assembly).
