Expedite irrigation projects work, says K Chandrasekhar Rao
CM asked the officials to formulate a project operation manual for maintenance of project after completion of the construction.
Hyderabad: Telangana state Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Tuesday instructed the authorities to expedite the construction work of the ongoing projects in erstwhile Mahbubnagar and Khammam districts.
While reviewing the progress of the ongoing construction work of the irrigation projects with the senior officials, ministers and TRS MLAs of both the districts at Pragathi Bhavan, the Chief Minister suggested the authorities to make alternate arrangements in case there is a need to reduce the water level for the project in Krishna river to supply water from Godavari river.
Mr Rao asked the officials to formulate a project operation manual for maintenance of project after completion of the construction.
He said that during summer also, plenty of water would be available at Dhummugudem and if water could be lifted from there to a maximum height of 195 metres then there is a possibility of provision of irrigated water to Khammam district. Reminding that the erstwhile Mahbubnagar district suffered a lot, Mr Rao said that most of the projects were designed with Jurala as source due to which water has become insufficient. The Palamuru Lift irrigation scheme has been designed to provide water through lift with Srisailam as source.
