Outpatient services start at AIIMS, Mangalagiri

Full-fledged services after completion of construction.

Vijayawada: Outpatient services in the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at Mangalagiri formally started from Tuesday.  

Outpatients will be able to avail services in general medicine, general surgery, paediatrics, community and family medicine, ENT, gynaecology, dermatology, dentistry and other departments. AIIMS was sanctioned to AP as part of the AP Reorganisation Act.

Ravi Kumar and Mr Tripathi said that 12 departments will start functioning in the AIIMS from Tuesday onward. They said that OP services will be available from 8.30 am to 4 pm Monday to Saturday and medicines will be available on 10 to 70 percent discount in the pharmacy.

They said that entrance to the AIIMS will be from the Mangalagiri side till the ongoing construction works are completed. Emergency services will star at the prestigious institution only after the construction work is completed.

The Central government had sanctioned Rs 1,680 crore for AIIMS and the state government’s allocated 183 acres of land. As per the proposal, the construction would be completed by 2020.
