Sikhs' Vaisakhi begins today in Hyderabad
After the culmination of the congregation, Guru Ka Langar (free community kitchen) will be opened to the devotees.
Hyderabad: The Sikh community in the city will be celebrating the 319th ‘Khalsa Saajna Divas’ (Khalsa Panth Foundation Day Celebrations), popularly known as ‘Vaisakhi’, from April 13 to 15. To mark the occasion, important events like— Vishaal Deewan (mass congregation) will be held on Saturday.
The event will be marked by the recitations of Gurubani Keertans (Holy Hymns) by the reputed Ragi Jathas (religious preachers) who are being specially invited from all over the world to render the ‘shabad keertans’. Bhai Amarjeet Singh Taan (USA), Bhai Jeevan Singhji Khalsa, (Punjab), Bhai Veer Singhji, Bhai Hari Singhji and others will recite the shabad keertans and Kathas and throw light on the teachings of the Sikh gurus.
After the culmination of the congregation, Guru Ka Langar (free community kitchen) will be opened to the devotees. In the evening, 'Nagar Keertan', (Holy Procession) will commence from Gurudwara Saheb Ameerpet and will pass through the main corridors of Greenlands, Begumpet, Punjagutta and return back to Gurudwara in the evening.
On Friday, Amrit Sanchaar (holy baptism) will be performed followed by 'Rein Sabai Keertan Darbar' (night keertan) on Sunday.
