Hyderabad: Students lose a full year for a minute
Two students who were three minutes late at the Government Polytechnic College at Masab Tank were not allowed.
Hyderabad: A girl student reached the Eamcet centre at Nizam College, Basheerbagh, almost the instant the gates closed and was not allowed to enter the hall. The requests of her parents and the student, who was to take the test for the engineering stream, to allow her inside went unheeded.
Elsewhere, two students who were three minutes late at the Government Polytechnic College at Masab Tank were not allowed. Many parents who had come to drop their kids asked the police at the duty to allow the two students inside, but in vain.
Mr Mohammad Ziaullah, 18, who came from Pahadi Sharif, said he had started for the Eamcet centre at 1.30 pm after namaz but got stuck in a traffic jam at Malakpet caused by the Metro Rail works. “I had taken long-term coaching as I could not qualify last year. I have lost two years,” he said.
Mr Mohammad Faiz Uddin who came from Chandrayangutta was late by 12 minutes and blamed it on the traffic. “Our whole year get waste due to one minute rule. I had taken long-term coaching but my year has gone waste now.”
