KT Rama Rao responds to Telangana Eamcet topper’s plight
When Mr Rao came to know about the situation of the boy, he got in touch with the District Collector.
Warangal: Empati Kushwant, who topped the TS Eamcet in the medical stream but was sceptical about being able to pursue higher education due to his financial condition, was relieved when on Wednesday, he got to know that the state government had come forward to help him pursue his dream of becoming a Neurosurgeon. TRS working president K.T. Rama Rao had called Jayashankar Bhupalpally district collector Mr Vasam Venkateshwarlu on Wednesday and asked him to send a report with information regarding the boy.
Kushwant’s father Laxminarayana, an employee with Singareni Collieries in Godavarikhani, had died in a road accident more than a decade ago. His mother Anitha decided to move to Bhupalpally after their relatives showed no interest in helping the bereaved family. She worked hard as a tailor to provide education for her two sons Kushwant and Srikar. Not letting her down, Kushwant worked hard to score good marks in his class 10. Anitha then enrolled Kushwant in Sri Chaitanya College, Hyderabad for his intermediate education.
She worked hard and got support from family and friends to pay the fee for the private college. Kushwant once again finished with promising marks in his first year of intermediate. The college management provided him a fee concession.
His all India NEET rank of 55 got him a confirmed seat in the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research, Puducherry. Kushwanth secured 19th rank in the AIIMS entrance test announced on Wednesday and is all set to get a seat in AIIMS, Delhi. When Mr Rao came to know about the situation of the boy, he got in touch with the District Collector.
