Telangana High Court summons two collectors in contempt case
The judge then issued form-1 notices to the collectors and other revenue officials.
Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court has issued form-1 notices to district collectors Venkatrami Reddy and Krishna Bhaskar of Siddipet and Siricilla districts respectively to appear before the court on July 22 in a case of contempt of court.
Justice Challa Kodanda Ram was dealing with the contempt case filed by Kotha Ravinder and seven others of Medak district, who complained to the court about the efforts made by the revenue officials to dispossess them of their own four-acre land in Lingareddipalli village near Siddipet contrary to the orders of the court.
They submitted that despite the orders issued by the court in 2015 which directed revenue authorities not to dispossess them of the land, revenue officials recently attempted to dispossess them of the said land, claiming it was assigned for the purpose of constructing a camp office for the local MLA.
At the hearing, the counsel for the petitioner informed the court about the revenue officials' interference in the name of surveys and also by cutting the mango trees in the property, all in utter violation of the high court’s orders.
The judge then issued form-1 notices to the collectors and other revenue officials.
