Over 3,000 vacant medical posts will be filled in 45 days: AP minister

The Minister also said action will be initiated against the government doctors who are doing private practise.

Rajamahendravaram: Over 3,000 medical posts in Andhra Pradesh government-run hospitals including those of doctors and nurses will be filled up in the next 45 days, Health Minister K Srinivasa said on Wednesday.

"We will fill over 3,000 such posts in 45 days to overcome the difficulties faced by medical department due to shortage of staff," Srinivasa told reporters Rajamahendravaram.

"The vacant positions include 2,000 gynaecologists, 50 pediatricians, 50 anaesthesiologists and 1000 nurses," he added.

The Minister also said action will be initiated against the government doctors who are doing private practise.
