Kasargod: A 12-year-old endosulfan victim has allegedly suffered fracture due to physiotherapy treatment at Kasargod Government General Hospital here on Wednesday.

The Aadhur native boy's leg and hand had been fractured, allege the relatives. The boy visited the hospital three days back for knee pain. The orthopedic surgeon referred him to physiotherapist and the boy returned home after treatment.

He was brought back to the hospital on Wednesday due to severe pain and it was found that his limbs had been fractured.

The relatives allege that the boy who has stumped growth had been subjected to high-grade physiotherapy and it might have caused the injury.

Meanwhile, Kasargod district medical officer (DMO) had ordered hospital superintendent to conduct probe on the issue.

“It was confirmed that the boy had suffered fracture. Only after getting the preliminary report we can tell whether it was through the physiotherapy treatment or not,” said DMO Dr A.P Dinesh Kumar.

The district administration had offered treatment to the boy at Pariyaram medical college hospital. Physicians say that endosulfan victims are likely to have weak bones and muscles.
