ADILABAD: The inpatients and those undergoing treatment at Matha Shishu Samrakshana government hospital on the banks of River Godavari, facing flood threat, were shifted to a government hospital in the Mancherial town on Tuesday.

Officials feared that keeping the patients in the Matha Shishu Samrakshana government hospital was not safe in a flood situation and when heavy rains were forecast for the next two days.

The hospital may be flooded at any time if the level rises in the Godavari and if floodwater is released from the irrigation projects like Yellampalli, Kadam, Swarna, and SRSP located upstream.
