SC categorization: MRPS to conduct Chalo Hyderabad in August
WARANGAL: A ‘Chalo Hyderabad’ programme will be conducted by the Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi in the second week of August, demanding that the Modi government introduce the SC categorization bill in Parliament.
This was stated here on Wednesday by the Samithi president, Manda Krishna Madiga after a meeting of the MRPS national executive at Ambedkar Bhavan in Hanamkonda.
Manda Krishna said Prime Minister Narendra Modi made promises on SC categorization thrice -- once in Hyderabad, then in Delhi and when he came to Warangal on July 8. “If Modi is not going to do this, the SC communities will be deeply hurt,” he said.
“The Congress party too must declare its stand on SC categorization. We urge the chief ministers of both Telugu states to take all-party delegations to Delhi and exert pressure on the central government,” he said.
He also said the opposition leader in AP, Chandrababu Naidu, must break his silence on this demand and support SC categorization.
“Our movement was started long ago demanding Categorization of the SC reservation quota. Our patience is wearing thin. All the people from various SC communities should come on one platform for achieving the goal,” he said.
Madiga appealed to the leaders of the SC communities to spread awareness on this demand and mobilize lakhs of people for the Chalo Hyderabad programme.
