Telangana employees seek more zones in new districts from Hyderabad, RR
New posts should be sanctioned in all departments in all the districts to meet the increasing needs.
Hyderabad: Telangana employees associations have sought an increase in the number of zones from the existing two, in line with the creation of new districts from Dasara.
Employees associations met members of Cabinet subcommittee on creation of new districts at the Secretariat on Friday and sought adoption of zonal system in recruitments and promotions.
“We welcome the decision to create new districts. However, there are certain issues concerning employees which need to be addressed before that,” said A. Padma Chary, Telangana Udyogula Sangham president. He said the new districts should be created in accordance with the Presidential Order on zonal system.
“Distribution of existing employees between new districts should be done by following the local/ zonal system. New posts should be sanctioned in all departments in all the districts to meet the increasing needs,” Mr Chary said.
He urged the committee to follow the zonal reservations in recruitments and promotions and to give reservations for local/ non-locals in the ratio of 80:20, 70:30 and 60:40 for district, zonal and state-cadre posts in respective zones.
Mr Chary requested the committee to give priority for rural candidates in fresh recruitment drives. He also sought special allowances to staff working in backward and rural areas.
