Celebrate I-Day but don't sing national anthem: UP 'qazi' to Barelvi madrasas
The circular states that along with photographs, videos of the programmes must be shot as well.
Bareilly: After the Uttar Pradesh Madrasa Shiksha Parishad on Friday issued a circular directing all madrasas affiliated to it to unfurl the national flag and recite the national anthem on August 15, the Jamat Raza-E-Mustafa revealed that the Bareilly 'qazi' has asked the Barelvi madrasas to celebrate the I-Day "without singing the national anthem."
"Asjad Raza Khan, the Bareilly 'qazi', has asked the Barelvi madrasas to celebrate the I-Day, but not sing the national anthem. It's a 'tughlaqi bayaan' by the Yogi Government. Some words in the national anthem reek of unfaithfulness towards our Allah. We will definitely celebrate the Independence Day, but will not sing the national anthem in the madrasas," Jamat Raza-E-Mustafa spokesperson Nasir Qureshi told ANI.
UP Madarsa Shiksha Parishad has also issued a circular in this regard and asked all madrasas affiliated to it to comply with its orders.
The circular states that along with photographs, videos of the programmes must be shot as well.
According to the circular, the flag hoisting and recitation of the National Anthem will take place at 8 am.
After that, homage will be paid to the soldiers and martyrs of the freedom struggle.
Students have been asked to sing songs on nationalism and discuss the history of August 15 and the freedom fighters.
The circular also calls for holding cultural programmes based on the theme of national unity, along with sports activities.
The Madhya Pradesh Madrasa Board later followed in the UP MSP's footsteps and ordered all 256 madrasas in the state to unfurl the national flag and recite the national anthem on August 15.
The Madrasa Board on Friday directed the youth to follow the order, record the video, click pictures of the event and send it to the chairman of the board.
The board also asked the students to take out a 'Tiranga rally' on the day.
