Congress stoking anti-TRS sentiments, says T Harish Rao
Mr Harish accused the Congress of being always anti-Telangana.
Hyderabad: Irrigation minister T. Harish Rao on Sunday accused the Congress of stoking anti-TRS government sentiments under the guise of AICC president Rahul Gandhi's two-day tour to Telangana. Mr Harish lashed out at Congress saying that the party wants to provoke students, unemployed youths and farmers against the TRS government in the public meetings to be addressed by Mr Gandhi.
Mr Harish said the TRS or Chief Minister and party chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao never promised a government job to each household as being claimed by Congress. He dared Congress to show at least one proof for its claim. “The Congress has now convened a public meeting of students and unemployed youths to provoke them against the TRS by falsely claiming that we had promised a job to each household when Telangana state was formed. I ask the Congress to disclose how many jobs they provided in their 60 years rule at the Centre,” he said.
Mr Harish accused the Congress of being always anti-Telangana. “They are raising a hue and cry over Mr Rahul Gandhi not getting permission to visit Osmania University campus. It is because of the Congress party, hundreds of OU students lost their lives during the Telangana statehood agitation. They obstructed and delayed the formation of Telangana state. Now the same people want to visit OU campus, meet students and shed crocodile tears. They also want to visit Telangana martyrs' memorial and pay tributes. People of Telangana are aware of all these gimmicks. The Congress leader cannot fool them with these tours and meetings,” he said.
