WARANGAL: A 20-year-old youth Praneeth Koduri allegedly committed suicide on Monday after his father refused to buy him a motorbike.
A native of Sangem village, Praneeth was a second year B Tech student in a private college in Narsampet. His father Sadaiah is a local TRS party leader. Praneeth had been pestering his father for three months to buy him a two-wheeler.
His father had refused and told him to concentrate on his studies, as he was yet to clear all his first year subjects. He had recently bought a new phone for Praneeth.
On Monday, Praneeth was his usual self in the morning and spoke to everyone in a normal way.
By afternoon, family members and friends could not trace him.
The GRP police discovered his body lying on the railway tracks near Chinthalapally railway station in Warangal Rural district and informed his parents.
His friends however say Praneeth was interested in a girl in his college who did not reciprocate, and it was his dejection over this that caused him to take his own life.
GRP police retrieved the body and sent it for post-mortem to the MGM hospital before handing it over to the family.
