Gauri case: SIT says motive in 2-3 days

Bengaluru: SIT sleuths probing the murder of journalist and activist Gauri Lankesh are confident that they will arrive at a conclusion on what led to the murder in two to three days.

Sources said that the investigation has been intensified and it is on the right track and they will know the motive behind the murder shortly. 

“All the angles are being probed and we are at the final stage to decide what led to the murder. We will arrive at a conclusion within 2-3 days and who is behind the murder. Once it is done, the investigation will be focused on nabbing the killers,” an official said.

The SIT is also expecting forensic and ballistic reports within this week and officers are hopeful that they will get major clues once they get these reports.

Meanwhile, the SIT officials held another round of meeting with the CID team that is probing Dr M.M. Kalburgi’s murder case on Tuesday. 

“We are sharing the details as there are striking similarities between the two and as we do not want to miss out any details of that case,” the official said.
