Hyderabad: Masjid banda circle chokes at peak hours
During peak hours, commuters ignore traffic rules which lead to bottlenecks.
Hyderabad: Masjid Banda circle is severely congested during peak hours as traffic rules are ignored. While the Botanical Garden Road and SMR Vinay Road have been widened, the Masjid Banda circle which connects the two is neglected.
During peak hours, commuters ignore traffic rules which lead to bottlenecks. On many occasions, locals and shopkeepers play traffic police to clear the traffic jams. Residents have repeatedly requested the civic body to widen the road and deploy traffic police but have been ignored.
A techie, Mr Aditya Agarwal, who has moved the authorities many times, said, “This road needs to be widened, at least the encroachments have to be removed. The number of vehicles plying on this road has increased, because of which the connecting roads have been widened but this one is not. We have to wait for hours in traffic jams as there are no signals and many violators.”
Another resident, Mr T Kalyan, said, “The area has every kind of store, but there is no proper road. The government needs to widen the road and provide a traffic signal or police personnel because during peak hours a lot of time is being wasted. It would be better if all the encroachments are removed.”
