Buffalo as bribe for babu in MP
The officer, however, denied charges that he demanded money from the farmer to do the work.
Bhopal: A farmer in Madhya Pradesh has taught a babu a lesson for allegedly demanding bribe to settle his land records by tying his buffalo to the latter’s car.
Bhupat Raghuvamsi, resident of Patharia in Vidisha district, on Thursday carried his buffalo to the tehsildar’s office in Sironj and tied it to the car of the naib tehsildar Sidhartha Singhar, who suggested him to sell the domestic animal to raise the money that is required to get his work done.
“I have been approaching the naib tehsildar for last seven months to settle my family’s land records. But, he refused to do my work unless I paid `25,000”, the farmer alleged and reported the matter to Chief Minister Kamal Nath.
“I tied the buffalo to his car and told him to sell it and raise the money he demanded”, he told reporters on Thursday.
The officer, however, denied charges that he demanded money from the farmer to do the work.
Meanwhile, the Vidisha district collector attached the officer to the district headquarters and placed the revenue inspector concerned under suspension following the complaint lodged by the farmer.
