SI insulted, abused at Tank Bund

The Gandhi Nagar police booked a case on Thursday and are searching for the accused persons.

Hyderabad: A sub-inspector working with the Chikkadpally Traffic Police Station lodged a complaint against a group of youngsters who misbehaved with him and obstructed him from performing his duties at Tank Bund as part of the idol immersion process. The Gandhi Nagar police booked a case on Thursday and are searching for the accused persons.

According to Gandhi Nagar police, the incident took place at Tank Bund at around 7.30 am, when sub-inspector of Chikkadpally traffic police station G. Balraj was performing duties of Ganesha bandobast. A group of persons had parked their vehicle on the Upper Tank Bund near crane no. 13, when SI Balraj had asked them to move the tractor as it was obstructing vehicular traffic. However, the youngsters reacted in an inappropriate way and abused him in filthy language and also stopped him from delivering his duties.

“The persons identified as Shiva Shankar, Vinay Kumar, Ajay Kumar, and others abused the SI in a filthy language and stopped him from discharging his duties. A case has been registered against the accused persons under sections 341, 353 and 504 r/w 34 of IPC, and an investigation will be instituted,” said the Gandhi Nagar police.
