Education Minister Raveendranath seeks report on Peace School
Police files FIR against promoting enmity'.
Kochi: The state government has decided to look into the activities of Peace School in Kochi. Education Minister C. Raveendranath has sought a report from the department on the syllabus the school and is following other activities related to the school.
Police registered an FIR under section 153A. (Promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language.)
“I have asked for a report from the authorities. We are awaiting the report in this regard,” the minister said.
Kochi City police had registered case against the school for teaching objectionable syllabus.
The cops have decided not to arrest anyone related to the incident. “We are not even going to summon the school authorities and arrest them. We are doing our homework. The investigation is on. We are verifying the study materials and literature we got from the schools. We cannot reveal any further details,” a top police source said.
The police, however, rejected the claims of the school authorities that they were only using the textbooks available in the market. “That argument is baseless. The school should decide what to teach,” a source clarified.

An exert of the text book allegedly taught by the school for the second standard students went viral on Facebook on Wednesday. The text deals with religious conversion.
