Paneerselvam submits wish list at first meet with PM as deputy CM
Other demands are enhanced allocation for the state under the Housing for All programmee.
Chennai: Deputy Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam on submitted a wish list from Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on several issues including continuous supply of coal to Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (Tangedco).
Most of the demands that are mentioned in the wish list have been pending before the Centre for a very long time like constitution of Cauvery Management Board (CMB).
Other demands are enhanced allocation for the state under the Housing for All programmee, compensating the state for the adverse treatment by 14th Finance Commission, release of pending grants amounting to Rs 17,060 crore and special allocation for strengthening judicial infrastructure.
Panneerselvam also demanded permission for Athikadavu-Avinashi irrigation ground water recharge and drinking water supply scheme and inter-linking of peninsular rivers. The government released only two pages of the demands and not the full memorandum to the media.
