Bengaluru: Depressed woman attempts suicide

According to doctors, Lenet has sustained severe injuries and her condition was critical. Madiwala police have registered a case.

Bengaluru: A 33-year-old woman, who was said to be in a severe depression after her husband died three months ago, attempted suicide by jumping off a three-storied building early Sunday.

The condition of the woman, who is undergoing treatment at the St. John's Hospital, is said to be critical. The incident took place in Chikka Adugodi in Madiwala police station limits and the woman has been identified as Lenet Androse, an employee with a reputed company on the Hosur Road.

The police said Lenet, a native of Kerala, had married Manovidya Roni of Kerala two years ago. After marriage the couple was residing in the city. Three months ago, Roni died of a heart attack, following which Lenet started living in a PG in Chikka Adugodi along with her sister.

After her husband's death, police said, Lenet went into a severe depression and hardly talked with anyone at office and PG. At around 5.30 am on Sunday, Lenet jumped off the third floor of the PG.

When some of her PG mates heard a loud thud, they rushed out and found Lenet lying on the ground. They rushed her to the hospital.

According to doctors, Lenet has sustained severe injuries and her condition was critical. Madiwala police have registered a case.
