After Chronicle report, GHMC cleans baby ponds
Residents living in and around the immersion ponds began complaining about the mosquito menace.

Hyderabad: The GHMC has embarked on special drive to clean up baby ponds. Its malaria wing has cleaned 15 lakes which are prone to mosquitoes.
This newspaper had reported that the tanks had not been cleaned after Ganesh and Dasara festivities, allowing mosquitoes to breed (Baby ponds posing grave health hazard). Residents living in and around the immersion ponds began complaining about the mosquito menace.
“We have cleared 15 lakes in Kapra, Cherlapally, Serilingampally, Kukatpally, and others. We will complete the rest in couple of days,” said a GHMC official.
