Telangana: Candidates make beeline to astrologers
Astrologers claim November 14, 17,18 and 19 right days to file papers.
Hyderabad: Candidates have lined up at the astrologers for an auspicious day to file nominations, after the election season started with the filing of papers on Monday. Some astrologers claimed that November 14, 17,18 and 19 would bring luck to the candidates and increase their chances of winning. Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, who is said to be a firm believer, is also set to file his nomination papers on the first auspicious day.
It can be recalled that he also dissolved the Assembly on an auspicious day, according to astrologers.
Half of the days set by the Election Commission for the nominations have turned out to be lucky according to astrologers. Some of them have become busy giving suggestions to the candidates on which date and at what time to file their nominations in order to hit the jackpot in the elections.
Apart from the experienced independent candidates, many of the first time independent candidates are set to file nominations only after consulting their purohits. Though there is a blanket cover on certain days being “good days”, purohits are also giving personalised suggestions based on the individual’s horoscope.
Though there were instances of these predictions going wrong in the past, candidates are not willing to take the risk by breaking tradition.
A local priest, on the condition of anonymity, said, “As of now dozens of candidates came to me to ask when they should file their nominations. I advised most of them to go for November 14, Wednesday, Sapthami.”
Chilkur Balaji temple chief priest Dr C.S. Rangarajan, had another take. He said that all the days in Karthika masam usually turned out to be favourable days for any kind of important activities. “Till Pournami the days are good,” he said.
