Hyderabad: Noticing that Andhra Bank had lent money to a petitioner without collecting any security, the Hyderabad High Court on Tuesday directed its Hitec City (Cyber Towers) branch chief manager and the chartered accountant who facilitated the process to appear personally by Thursday.

Justice S.V. Bhatt was dealing with a petition by Banjara Hills resident S. Madhulata who had alleged that a Banjara Hills sub-inspector was threatening her to settle a civil dispute with chartered accountant Deekshith Rao Eravalli.

The judge said the casual attitude of the bank would cause its liquidation.

Earlier Justice Bhatt had ordered the Banjara Hills station house officer and sub-inspector K. Harinder to explain their interference in a civil dispute.

Ms Madhulata had alleged that Mr Eravalli facilitated securing the loan from the bank and had demanded '7 lakh as his fee. She had paid '5 lakh, but he lodged a police complaint making false claims. She placed video footage purportedly showing the SI pressurising her to sign a compromise.

Justice Bhatt pulled up up the police officials for intervening in a civil dispute and sought their explanations.

TS home counsel K. Srikanth said the loan was obtained using forged documents.
