Belagavi: Congress MLA S T Somashekhar took a dig at Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy’s pre-poll promises while raising the issue of garbage dumps in his constituency, Yeshwanthpur, on Wednesday.

During question hour, Mr Somashekhar said garbage from all over Bengaluru city was being dumped in five places in his constituency. The stench from garbage dumps at Kannahalli, Seegehalli, Dodda Bidarakal, Lingadheerana Halli and Subbarayana Palya was unbearable for people. “During elections, our Chief Minister visited my constituency five times. He said that I had allowed garbage dumps everywhere, making people's life miserable. He promised to move these garbage dumps, once he became chief minister. I am waiting for that for the last seven months,'' Mr Somashekhar added.

Suggesting that the government could commence power generation with the help of these garbage dumps, Mr Somashekhar requested the government to move at least four dumps out of his constituency.
