Bengaluru: Auto driver returns cash to owner, feted

Ramesh Babu Nayak, an auto driver had promptly returned a cash bag belonging to Dr M R Bhaskar, an Indian citizen residing in Maldives.

The cash bag, which was left behind in Nayak's auto, contained Rs 1.50 lakh of Indian currency and USD 12,000, valued at around Rs 8.50 lakh.

Bengaluru: Sheshadripuram police have felicitated an auto driver who had returned a cash bag containing about Rs 10 lakh to its owner.

Ramesh Babu Nayak, an auto driver had promptly returned a cash bag belonging to Dr M R Bhaskar, an Indian citizen residing in Maldives. The cash bag, which was left behind in Nayak’s auto,  contained Rs 1.50 lakh of Indian currency and USD 12,000, valued at around Rs 8.50 lakh. It is said that the amount was supposed to be used for a heart operation. Recogni sing the auto driver’s honesty, the Sheshadripuram police felicitated Nayak in the police station. City Police Commissioner Bhaskar Rao also commended the uprightness of the auto driver.
