KTU registrar visits Toms College, collects evidence
The police arrested eight SFI activists for conducting a march to the college after it turned violent.
Kottayam: Registrar of Kerala Technical University Dr G.P. Padmakumar said on Friday that the allegations of the students and the parents against the management of Toms College of Engineering for Startups, Mattakara, were of a serious nature.
Dr Padmakuar, who reached the college on Friday morning to investigate the allegations the students and parents had submitted to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and education minister C. Raveendranath, met with students, parents and staff at the college.
The allegations included the visits of college chairman Tom T. Joseph to the girls’ hostel after 6 pm. Mr Joseph was absent when the inquiry team reached the college.
Meanwhile, the police arrested eight SFI activists for conducting a march to the college after it turned violent.
The SFI activists including district president Rijesh K. Babu were arrested by the police and later released on bail. The police registered case against them for rioting.
