Speaking at a press conference, Auto Union leaders A. Satthi Reddy (Telangana Auto Drivers Federation), V. Kiran (IFTU), B.Venkatesham (AITUC), Eshwaraiah (CITU), Sailu (BMS), Amanullah Khan (JAC) and others said that the revised fee would be a burden to autorickshaw drivers and owners. “Earlier, there was an exemption from the renewal of fitness from the date of expiry to one year. The recent amendments and revised fee structure enables RTA officials to impose '50 penalty per day for not getting fitness of autos.
