Tamil Nadu Chief Minister's Medals announced

The monthly medal allowance to the recipients of these Medals will be sanctioned with effect from February 1, 2018.

Chennai: More than 1,680 police personnel will be presented with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister's Medals for their exceptional devotion to duty on Pongal, announced Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami on Saturday.

The medals will be presented to the recipients at district headquarters in a ceremonial parade by the director-general of police, director of fire and rescue services department and the director of the prison department, said a statement issued by the Chief Minister.

In all, 1,500 police personnel in the rank of police constables, head constables, and equivalent ranks will be awarded “Tamil Nadu Chief Minister's Constabulary Medals”. 120 Fire and Rescue Services Personnel in the rank of leading fireman, driver mechanic, fireman drivers and firemen and 60 prison service personnel in the rank of Grade-I warders (Male) are given “Tamil Nadu Chief Minister's Medals”.

The monthly medal allowance to the recipients of these Medals will be sanctioned with effect from February 1, 2018, according to their ranks, said an official statement.
