PM Modi to virtually flag off Vande Bharat train between Secunderabad-Vizag today
HYDERABAD: The Vanda Bharat Express will depart from Platform 10 of the Secunderabad station after Prime Minister Narendra Modi flags off the train virtually from Delhi, at 10.30 am on Sunday.
Simultaneously a function is being organised by South Central Railway (SCR), which will be attended by Union ministers Ashwini Vaishnaw and G. Kishan Reddy. School and college students, accompanied by their parents, will join the journey along with VVIPs.
The train’s regular operations will begin on Monday. The IRCTC website has started issuing tickets, which will be `1,665 for A/C chair and `3,120 for A/C executive chair from Secunderabad to Visakhapatnam. The 16-compartment train will halt only at Warangal, Khammam, Vijayawada and Rajahmundry.
Kishan Reddy said “As per protocol, invitations have been sent to the Chief Minister, other ministers and MLAs. We hope they will be there for the inauguration.”
Only on its inaugural run, the train will halt at Cherlapally, Bhongir, Jangaon, Kazipet, Warangal, Mahbubabad, Dornakal, Khammam, Madhira, Kondapally, Vijayawada, Nuziveedu, Eluru, Tadepalligudem, Nidadavolu, Rajahmundry, Dwarapudi, Samalkot, Tuni, Anakapalle, and Duvvada.
Railway authorities are halting the train at all these stations on its first run so that people could see the train.
