Tamil Nadu CM confers with officials for an hour

Before his arrival, the senior officials held a meeting among themselves.

Chennai: For the first time after becoming a caretaker Chief Minister, O. Panneerselvam on Monday visited the secretariat and held discussions with the officials for about an hour.

The Chief Minister accompanied by school education minister K. Pandiarajan arrived at the secretariat in the afternoon and called chief secretary Girija Vaidhyanathan,  DGP T.K. Rajendran and other officials to his room. He held discussions for about an hour.  

Before his arrival, the senior officials held a meeting among themselves. Later, the Chief Minister announced a solatium of Rs 3 lakh for the family of Hasini sexually assaulted and murdered near Porur.

Members of the Secretariat employees union led by Ganesan met the Chief Minister and gave a petition listing their demands, immediately after his arrival. It is said that their demands too were discussed in the Chief Minister's meeting with officials.
