13 lakh to write class 12 CBSE exam, 18 lakh class 10
The exams for main subjects will begin from March 2 and conclude on April 4.
Chennai: The Central Board of Secondary Examination (CBSE) class 12 board exams will begin with vocational exams from Friday.
Totally, 12,87,359 students will write exams from 4,974 centres. The exams for main subjects will begin from March 2 and conclude on April 4.
The vocational exams for class 10 to begin from February 21 and for main subjects, the exams will begin from March 7. The exams conclude on March 29.
In a press release on Wednesday, Anurag Tripathi, secretary of CBSE has announced that the board is aiming to bring out the board results one week earlier than previous years.
The board has announced that using communication devices and carrying old question to examination hall has been banned as an unfair means.
It further said the spreading of wrong information or fake news regarding board exams or question papers through social media will be considered as unfair means.
It also announced that students with 21 categories of disabilities will be given various concessions including compensatory time (20 extra minutes per hour) and scribe, assistive devices like hearing aid and special chair and laptops.
Among the candidates 28 transgenders - 22 in class 10 and 6 in class 12 will write the board exams.
