Hyderabad: Urdu Academy to conduct mushairas

The academy has been earmarked Rs 5 lakh for for each district to host the mushairas.

Hyderabad: The Urdu Academy will conduct a series of mushairas in 10 districts to promote local poets.

The first event will be held in Nizamabad on Thursday. The academy has been earmarked Rs 5 lakh for for each district to host the mushairas. Local poets will be provided with opportunities to present their talents along with national-level poets. The best local poets will be awarded Rs 10,000.

Well-known poets Manzal Bhopali, Nayeem Akhtar Burhanpuri, Akbar Kashif, Saqib Junaidi and Chacha Palmuri will participate in the mushaira in Nizamabad where TRS MP Nizamabad K. Kavitha will be the chief guest. Urdu Academy president Moulana Raheemuddin Ansari will preside over the function.
